How to
get new keys for your EDT 6 to EDT 7 or 8 Upgrade
If you
have a valid Maintenance Agreement, follow the steps below
to transfer your EDT 6 keys over to EDT 8 keys:
When you are ready to
deactivate your EDT 6 keys and generate new permanent keys for
EDT 8, just go to the
Gresham Licensing Server and do the following:
- Login. If you do
not have a login, your Primary Company Contact can add users
for your company account.
- Mouse over the
"Generate Keys" tab near the top of the screen and select
"My Machines".
- Select the machine that
you want to upgrade*
- Select the “Deactivate
this machine’s license” button
- Select the product that
you want to deactivate (DistribuTape 6.X)
- Type in the reason
field; “Deactivate permanent key and transfer to EDT 8 for
an upgrade”.
- Click on the “Make
Request” button
The
licensing administrator will then deactivate your current key
and transfer your key authorization over to EDT for ACSLS. At
that point you can download EDT 8 and generate a new permanent
key. You will be notified by E-Mail when this is
available.
This same process applies
whenever any product changes through a major point release
(i.e.2.X to 3.X) or has a new key generator.

may contact support at

*Note:
If it is an older EDT license, it may not be registered on the
licensing server. If that is the case please contact us
at
licensing@greshamstorage.com to add your account or your
key authorizations so that your machine can be added and
upgraded.
